On February 26th, 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm, we will be hosting a blood drive in collaboration with Rhode Island Blood Center in the Grand Reading Room of the Claire T. Carney Library!
If you are interested in donating your blood to save a life, sign up for your appointment today! Scan the QR code of the flyer to the right of this text box!
Walk-in appointments are allowed! Please bring a valid government-issued ID, such as a driver's license, ID card, or passport.
Not sure if you are eligible? Check out the following web page from RIBC on donor eligibility. https://www.ribc.org/donate-blood/donor-eligibility/
The very talented RIBC donation coordinators determine eligibility at the start of any donation appointment, so even if you are not entirely sure you are eligible, they can always determine for you at the Blood Drive!
Scared of Needles and still want to help? We are looking for student Volunteers to help run the blood drive! Sign up with the flyer below! We need contributions from everyone to make this drive possible!
- Every two seconds, someone needs blood. (and that someone could be a perfect match to your blood)
- There is no substitute for blood. Blood components cannot be synthetically made and can only come from volunteer donors.
- Blood is more than just Red Blood Cells! Produced in the bone marrow, blood is typically collected as “whole blood” and then separated into its unique components: platelets, red cells, and plasma. Each can deliver a lifesaving benefit to someone in need. Sourced from the RIBC Website
See all the patients you can help! Some may be just like you!
